Math Colloquium – Spring 2011

As a student in this class, you are expected to attend every meeting of the Queens College Mathematics Colloquium.  Certain common sense behaviors are expected of attendees of any colloquium or math seminar.

  • Arrive in the classroom before the starting time and remain in the classroom until the colloquium is over.
  • Give the speaker your full attention during the presentation.
  • Cellular phones should be put away and set on vibrate mode.

In addition, students in this class are expected to make an effort to participate in many colloquia.  This includes

  • Asking questions during the question and answer session after the presentation.
  • Asking a question or two during the colloquium.
  • Discussing the topics from colloquium with the speaker or with other students after the colloquium.
  • Taking notes when a subject is of particular interest.
