     Spring 2007:

Z. Apostolov, M. Barbery, and W. Fleming: We will model the US Military Death Rate in Iraq. Our plan is not to take a politcal stance on the subject but rather to provide people with the information they need to develop their own opinion on recent surges.

T. Chang and N. Sepe: Nick and Tina's Travel Agency for College Students: Our goal is to find which vacation spot is optimal for each client given their preference of temperature. We would also be able to tell them which week of the summer is optimal for their preference.

P. Chernek and M. Guerriero: We model total precipitation in the Greater Binghamton area over the past 5 years by month. We forecast of total precipitation for 2008 and forecast of snowfall for 2008.

A. Crane, W. Crary, R. Hansen, and N. Papali: What factors impact the number of students graduating high school with a Regents Diploma in New York State? (Excluding New York City)

V. Dhima, J. Fabregas, and M. Garcia Duque: We will identify the best bus transportation schedule for people at different locations so that people can get to work on time.

M. Gittleman, T. Kowalski, and J. Titus: We want to model NCAA Division I Men's Basketball attendance as a dependent variable in response to several clusters of independent variables. We aim to inform decision-making to maximize attendance at college basketball games.

W. Greenwood and S. Mawhirt: We create a population prediction model for the subspecies of piping plovers living in colonies on the south shore of Long Island.

J. Hartog, C. Paull, and E. Pisch: We model students' tendencies to skip class. We will take into consideration factors such as time of class, level of class, class size, day of the week, and weather.

Y. Lodha, T. Meigel, and A. Shatzkes: The project aims at defining a simple yet fairly accurate model for financial markets. To model such markets generally advanced methods like stochastic calculus are used. Our aim is to define a model that uses more basic mathematics yet gives us competitive results.

R. Ryu, M. Ya, and N. Zohar: Why does the hot water stop in the middle of our shower? And how can we optimize this problem to occur less frequently?
